Day 7

Fished the middle Kenai this morning.  On the water at 5.  Took us a while, but we managed 7 fish.  Did see 2 immature eagles eating fish on the bank.  The mature one was harassing the sea gulls.  Cold ride but beautiful scenery as usual.

No combo trip today... :-( gale force winds reduced us to halibut. Limit, but no big ones.

Day 6. Headed to Homer for our halibut/lingcod trip. Seas will be bumpy. Hope we have a good trip.

Just landed from our fly out. Big River Lake. Awesome fishing & sights. Bull moose, cow moose, baby eagles, seal, brown bear. Sleep well tonight.

Day 5. We are headed to a Hugh adventure fly out trip across Cook's Inlet. Hopefully will have some good pics from the air. Hoping to see some bear...

Just in from our halibut trip. We caught 80 halibut and came in with a solid avg. of 20-25 lbs... Dad was the big fisherman with 24 on his own.

Day 4. Headed to Ninilchik for our 1/2 day halibut trip. I'll give a report when we get back. Still drizzly rain. Makes for cold mornings.

Day 3 is in the books. Booked a trip for halibut in Homer for Thursday. We have a trip for halibut in Ninilchik tomorrow. Hope to give u an update after...

Day 3 midday. We are headed to Homer to play tourist. Visit the spit and take some pics. Still overcast but no rain.

Day 3 started at 4:15. Float fished the Kasilof river. I had big fish of the day. 7 total.

Day 2 was fishing on the Kenai river. We had the afternoon shift. I got skimmed. Great chili for dinner.

Day 1, Seward

Well, rough seas have sidelines our halibut trip this a.m.  Had a great breakfast, and now chilling at our room for a bit.  Marina Motel is very convenient to the docks...  We may try to run to Homer later this week to get a trip in.  Most likely will hit up the aquarium today.  Fjords trip is just too cloudy to be worth it.

Bedtime, Day 1

12:30 & time for bed.  It's drizzly rain & about 48 degrees.  Hope to sleep well & dream about the big one's.

Driving...

Left Carr's with our license & headed the 115 miles to Seward.  Should take us about 4 hrs.  Little bit of sleep & up @ 6 for our halibut trip.  10 ft seas forecast.  Hello Dramamine!
